Measurement capabilities (track-wise)*

Track A : The working body — posture, movement and effort

Anthropometer set
Hand + pinch gauge dynamometer (syncs wirelessly with EMG)
Wireless surface EMG (Delsys Trigno: Centro, Quattro, Mini sensors)
Electrogoniometer (Biometrics twin-axis goniometer)
Integrated Data Streaming and Analysis Software

Track B : The working environment — heat, noise, vibration, ambient air

Sound level meter (octave, FFT, RT60, STIPA)
Noise dosimeter (with octave analysis)
Vibration analyser — tri-axial hand-arm + whole-body accelerometers
Multifunction environmental meter (temperature, humidity, air velocity, light, sound)
Particle analyser + Respirable dust sampler
Spirometer (respiratory response)

Track C : The working mind — attention, fatigue, physiology

Wearable physiological sensor**
4-channel bioamplifier**
VR headset

**For building our own instruments/experiments

Track D : Design for work

Prototyping & Design Facilities

Prototyping runs through the Department of Design PD workshop, facilities includes 3D printing (both FDM and resin based), CO₂ laser cutter, CNC router, 3D scanner (with reverse engineering option), other basic facilities to prototype

*All instruments listed are either already in use or on order or on immediate plan of procurement

Access & Collaboration

We welcome collaboration. Our measurement capabilities are open to students, faculty and partners within and beyond IIT Kanpur. Whether you need a specific measurement for your own study or want to design a joint project, get in touch with the PI to talk through access, training and ways to work together.
